Regular Giving

The rehabilitation of an individual resident can take a number of years and for some, support is needed for the rest of their life. A regular donation will enable us to be confident that we are able to commit to this rehabilitation for as long as our residents need us.

£7 each month would help to pay for people like Will (pictured) to have regular speech and language therapy, to help him communicate with his family, friends and carers.

Will was just eighteen and had been accepted to study at Oxford University when he was involved in an accident with a car whilst cycling.

Since 2009 he has lived at QAHH where he receives regular physical therapy and speech and language therapy. Although he is unable to develop his speech very well, he has made significant improvements in his ability to communicate using other methods such as using an alphabet board, physical hand signals and, hopefully in the future, adopting eyegaze technology if we can find the funding.

Being able to convey his thoughts, feelings and needs mean that he is less frustrated because, although his body is disabled, his mind remains sharp. The more he is able to develop his communication skills, the more independent and positive he can feel.

If you would like to make a regular donation through a standing order please complete the Standing Order Form and send to The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home, Boundary Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 4LJ
