Care for Veteran’s First Apprentice

Care for Veterans are excited to announce their first Apprenticeship started this week, Monday 10 June 2024.

Adam George one of our Support Services Assistants, has today started on an 18-month programme to become a Facilities Services Operative. Adam has worked with Care for Veterans for nearly seven years and as well as his Support Services role you will often see him undertaking weekday reception duties between 16:00 and 20:00. Adam brings with him an excellent knowledge of the organisation and is well known and liked by our residents and staff.

David Gayler, Head of Human Resources, said ‘This is an exciting time for the organisation and having the ability to grow and develop our staff is a key component of our people plan going forwards. It is critically important where we can, that we invest in developing and retaining our staff base this is one of the first steps on our roadmap to achieve this”.

Adam will be supported by his mentor Phil Davies and the tutors at Grey Seal Training Academy and will work with the existing members of the Facilities team, Martin Greer, Paul Cox and Peter Hawkes.
