Fundraising Manager

Full time and based in Worthing, West Sussex

£33,000-£35,000 depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced and successful Fundraising Manager to join our busy Fundraising & Marketing team at Care for Veterans in Worthing, where we care for physically disabled ex-Servicemen and women.  This is an exciting time to join the charity as in 2019 we celebrate 100 years of caring for our nation’s veterans.

The Fundraising Manager will support the Head of Fundraising & Marketing on delivering the fundraising strategy and income targets. Main duties will include managing the Fundraising Officers; working on new annual and one-off fundraising initiatives and achieving their income targets; acting as a fundraising advocate in the local community and attending networking events; developing and maintaining key relationships particularly within organisations and companies; with the Head of Fundraising & Marketing working on high profile centenary events and managing ad hoc fundraising initiatives (see the job description for more details).

All candidates must have the following:

  • at least 5 years’ fundraising experience in a senior role
  • experience in a variety of fundraising income streams, including corporate, community and events
  • experience of managing a team
  • experience of forming key relationships in the community with high profile supporters, be they individuals or corporate
  • ability to work flexibly as some events are in the evening or at the weekend
  • experience of having been personally responsible for income targets of £200,000+
  • be committed to the care and rehabilitation of disabled veterans
  • be a team player and supportive of colleagues
  • the able to undertake public speaking to enthuse support for the charity

Nurse Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Nurse Manager to manage one of our 22 bedded wings. The post will involve leading a day team of Registered Nurses, Healthcare Supervisors and Healthcare Assistants, reporting to our Head of Clinical Services.

The salary for the role will be paid within the Band 7 pay scale depending on experience.

Hours of work are: 37.5 per week.

Shifts are: 7 am to 3 pm and 1pm to 8.30 pm

Annual Leave: 33 days including bank holiday entitlement

Additionally we also offer subsidised meals, free car parking, pension contribution matching scheme up to 5% of salary, life assurance after qualifying period and support with revalidation.

Staff Nurse – Days – Band 5 equivalent

37.5 hours per week.  Shifts 7 am to 3 pm and 1pm to 8.30 pm.

A vacancy has arisen for a motivated Staff Nurse to join our Day Team.  If you are interested in working as part of a slow stream rehabilitation multi-disciplinary team this could be your next career move.

Healthcare Assistant – Day Duty

A vacancy has arisen for a full time Healthcare Assistant at Care for Veterans. Hours of work are on a rota basis: 7.00am to 3.00pm or 1.00pm to 8.30pm. Weekend and bank holiday working will be required. Candidates should ideally have NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care. A keen interest in neurological rehabilitation of all age groups would be highly desirable. In addition to a competitive salary pay is enhanced for weekend working. NVQ pay enhancements offered after probation. Holiday is 25 days per annum plus bank holiday entitlement.

We are currently seeking a friendly, customer-focused person with good communication skills to join our team as Support Services Assistant (Housekeeping).  Some commercial cleaning experience, preferably in a clinical environment would be desirable but full training will be given. A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
