Bank Staff Nurse – Band 5 equivalent

We are looking to expand our bank registered nurse team and if you are able to work on a casual basis we would be keen to hear from you.

Shifts are 7 am to 3 pm; 1 pm to 8.30 pm and nights are 8pm to 8am.

Due to the nature of the post a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.  This includes an adult barred list check.

All applicants to any post within Care for Veterans are required to declare any involvement either directly or indirectly with any firm, company or organisation which has a contract with the Charity. Failure to do so may result in an application being rejected, or if it is discovered after appointment that such information is being withheld, then this may lead to dismissal.

Volunteer eBay Lister

We are looking for someone who is an experienced eBayer. We have lots of donated items that we sell on eBay (or other sites) to raise money for Care for Veterans. This involves researching and ascertaining a competitive price, photographing items, listing items on eBay or alternative sites and writing accurate and interesting descriptions and finally, packaging sold items. It would be ideal if someone could do one day per week. This would be working from home with weekly visits to Care for Veterans to collect the items.

We are recruiting for this role despite the COVID-19 emergency because it’s important for our future. We would really like to hear from you if you’re interested, even if it may not be practical for us to meet in person for some time. We could talk by phone or video link initially so you can find out more about the role and if it might be right for you. 

We need a person who is very experienced at using eBay, has an interest in antiques and collectibles and is very accurate and pays attention to detail.

  • at present you’ll be working from home with a weekly collection of the items for eBay. However, when the situation with COVID-19 improves, you will be working in a small and very friendly team, conveniently based in central Worthing
  • able to develop your computer, photography and writing skills
  • gaining useful work experience

Must have access to a camera, even if on a phone. Must have internet at home.

Volunteer Collection Tin Coordinator

 Have you got what it takes to become the collection tin coordinator for Care for Veterans?  You’ll be involved in:

  • Distributing collection tins to shops and businesses in Worthing and the local area
  • Identifying and securing new venues for collection tins
  • Maintaining and servicing the collection tins on a regular basis

This role is flexible and can fit around your existing commitments.

Although you do not need to have previous experience of a similar volunteering role within a charity, ideally you will have the following:

  • Good knowledge of the local area
  • Car owner or access to one
  • Good health as will involve walking and tins can be heavy
  • Professional manner and good communication skills
  • Enthusiasm

Fundraising Volunteer

Our fundraising team need a variety of high value prizes for our upcoming auctions, events and raffles. Are you both thrifty and creative with a ‘can do’ attitude? If so, we want you to join our go-getting team!

Tasks:

  • Researching donor opportunities
  • Identifying and approaching potential supporters
  • Work collaboratively with the wider fundraising team

Skills, knowledge and experience:

Confident, reliable and creative. This role would suit someone outgoing, with a good understanding of sourcing fundraising opportunities.

This is a great opportunity to work closely with the fundraising team, develop key negotiation skills as well as working on the research and development of new donors and the overall success of our planned fundraising activities. This role is fully supported.

Requirements: References; Attendance at mandatory training

Time and Length of Commitment: Flexible

Site: Community/Home based (Office access once safeguarding guidance allows).

Volunteer Trust Fundraising Assistant

To assist with trust fundraising, through research, data entry and filing. Charitable trusts & foundations provide a significant amount of funding for Care for Veterans (approx. £600,000 per annum). We have a database of trusts which we are adding to all the time as well as proactively seeking out new trusts. We submit approximately 70 applications each month.

Tasks:

  • Researching lists of trusts via the internet
  • Identifying new trusts to apply to
  • Data capture
  • Work collaboratively with Trust officer

Skills, knowledge and experience:

Organised, good computer skills, attention to detail. Ideally someone with Excel experience. Must have access to laptop or desktop.

This is a great opportunity to work closely with the Trust team, develop key skills in the research and development of major trust applications and have a huge impact on the success of one of our largest income streams providing core funding to our vital services. This role is fully supported.
