Fundraising Officer

£22,000 per annum (full time 37.5 hr per week) with pay increase after successful completion of 6 months probationary period

We are looking for a Fundraising Officer to join our small but dedicated fundraising team at Care for Veterans, a charity which has cared for physically disabled ex-Servicemen and women for 100 years. Our award-winning care includes long term nursing care, rehabilitation, respite and end of life care to those who have served in our country’s Armed Forces.

You will be responsible for raising money from events, corporate and community support, organising some of our established events and instigating new ones. You will also secure corporate support, both local and national, and develop long-standing relationships with companies and community organisations, predominantly in the West Sussex area.

We are looking for a bright, dynamic and energetic person, preferably with experience in fundraising and/or event management, to join us at a very exciting time as we finish our 100th anniversary year and develop all the opportunities for fundraising and publicity that this has produced. You must be able to demonstrate success in raising money and/or organising events, be a team player and have an enthusiasm for the care we provide to veterans. You’ll be an excellent communicator, hard-working and very flexible regarding working hours as this role can involve working outside of the 9-5 working hours and at weekends (time off in lieu is given).

If you have any questions, would like a chat about this role or wish to come and visit Care for Veterans to see our 60-bed care and rehabilitation facility, please contact Elizabeth Baxter on 01903 218444.

For an application form, see How to apply or contact Helen Bennett on 01903 213458 for an application form by post.

Due to the nature of the vacancy a satisfactory enhanced and adult barred list DBS check will be required.

All applicants to any post within Care for Veterans are required to declare any involvement either directly or indirectly with any firm, company or organisation which has a contract with the Charity. Failure to do so may result in an application being rejected, or if it is discovered after appointment that such information is being withheld, then this may lead to dismissal.
