Charity carol concert raises £4,335 for disabled veterans

On Sunday 16 December, Worthing-based charity, Care for Veterans, held its 13th annual carol concert at the stunning Lancing College Chapel. The sold-out event welcomed more than 500 members of the public, as well as Care for Veterans’ residents and staff, and raised £4,335.

This year’s service was led by Care for Veterans’ Chaplain, Reverend Beverley Miles, and featured readings by residents, staff members and Care for Veterans’ Patron, Nicholas Witchell. There were also performances from local choir, Worthing Voices with ‘Cantamus’, as well as the charity’s very own choir.

Fundraising Officer at Care for Veterans, Christine Gillott, said, “We’d like to thank everyone who bought tickets to our Christmas Carol Concert and helped us raise this fantastic amount of money. Special thanks also to Lancing College, both of the fabulous choirs, the Worthing TS Vanguard Sea Cadets, and all of our other volunteers. The money raised will be very well spent on the veterans in our care.”
