Quiz night helps to raise £1,550 for disabled veterans

On Thursday 3 May, 16 teams competed to become quiz champions at the Care for Veterans spring quiz night, and helped to raise £1,550 for the charity.

Care for Veterans’ Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Elizabeth Baxter and supporter, Rob Baker, acted as quizmasters. They led the teams through eight interactive rounds of questions, which included pictures and sound clips.

Care for Veterans’ residents and their families also joined in the fun and lively quiz.

The winning team was from local company, Equiniti, who took home a trophy and their prize of a case of wine.

Rachael McWilliam, from the winning team, said: “Such a fantastic night and so much fun; I still can’t believe we won. Can’t wait for the next one! Such a brilliant amount of money raised for a fantastic cause.”

Fundraising Officer and event organiser, Kim Bowen-Wood, said, “From everyone here at Care for Veterans, I’d like to thank everyone who came and took part and helped us to raise this fantastic amount of money for the care and rehabilitation of our veterans.”
