Show Off Your ‘Glorious Garden’ in Photo Competition

Care for Veterans is calling for Britain’s gardeners to demonstrate their hard work during lockdown by entering their Glorious Gardens photo competition.

The competition, which is judged by Nicki Chapman, Martyn Cox and Darren Rudge, includes categories for the best front garden, best back garden, best container/balcony and best allotment/vegetable plot.

For over 100 years, Care for Veterans has provided long-term nursing care, rehabilitation, respite and award-winning end of life care to disabled ex-Service personnel from the RAF, Army, Royal Navy and auxiliary services. It receives no regular government funding and each year needs to raise over £1.9 million to enable it to continue its first-class care.

The events the charity usually hosts in order to raise money have all been cancelled or postponed, so the Glorious Gardens photo competition is one of many new ways the charity is trying to replenish the lost income during this challenging time. The money raised will continue this great care and support for our nation’s heroes who have given so much and are now facing their toughest battle.

Deadline for competition entries is Friday 28 August. Each category prize winner will receive a Garden Essential Toolkit and other garden sundries. In addition, the overall winner will win a one-off engraved spade. Entry is £5 per category with proceeds going to help the work of Care for Veterans.
