The BIG Plant and Bake Sale raises £4,000 for disabled veterans

In May, supporters from across the UK took part in The BIG Plant and Bake Sale to raise vital funds for disabled veterans.

Plant and bake sales took place on Saturday 15th May to raise vital funds for Care for Veterans, a Worthing-based charity which provides care and rehabilitation for disabled veterans from all over the UK.

Christine Gillott, Senior Fundraiser at Care for Veterans, said:

“Due to Covid restrictions, Care for Veterans has been unable to host its annual Summer Fayre, so we brought the fayre to the UK, asking supporters to host their very own sales. Supporters signed up to host their own sales, from a few home grown plants and baked items to large sales where local nurseries donated an amazing number of plants, and bakeries provided amazing cupcakes and baked treats. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who hosted a sale, local gardeners and bakers who donated items to the sales, and to everyone who visited the sales. The events raised nearly £4,000 which helps the charity to provide care and rehabilitation for disabled ex-Service personnel and their immediate families.”
